2nd Annual Open Water Marathon

 
Playa del Carmen is gearing up for the second Open Water Marathon on September 28th.
 
The event is organized by Produtec, the Mexican Federation of Swimming and the Swimmers of Quintana Roo, and is supported by the Municipality of Solidaridad and the Captaincy of Puerto Morelos.
 
The male and female categories are divided into 1.25, 2.5 and 5 km marathons. Arrival and marking will take place from 7:00 to 8:30am and the formal competition will begin at 9:00am and last approximately 2 hours. Registration will be open until September 28th, and it’s important to remember that prices vary by date of registration.
 
Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place per category, and commemorative medals and a buffet meal will be provided for all participants.
