If you are traveling to Riviera Maya, you must taste the finest culinary pleasure in the zone. In this edition, the sommelier Luca Ballotta shares and recommends you a selection of Mexican wines. To him, the color, type of grape and prices are important to choose a product as this. Wine is not a recent trend; it is an experience, a companion, and a pleasure to remind for a lifetime. Find out the top 5 of Mexican wines:
Espuma de Piedra Blanc de Noir: A wine of citrus, green apple and tropical fruits scents is ideal to match with smoked salmon, lobster, shellfish and seafood.
Casa Grande Chardonnay, Casa Madero: A Mexican wine with an enveloping presence due its acidity, and a dehydrated fruit and spice long finish due its time spent in the barrel. Enjoy a glass of this wine with white meat, creamy sauces and chilies in walnut sauce.
Casa Madero V Rosado: Semi-dry character, made from herbs that refresh and leave a long taste on the palate. This wine is served with salads, soft cheese, cocktails, ceviches, crab empanadas and white meat.
Colonia Norte Viña de Garza, Valle de Guadalupe: It contains an intensive color and a smell of ripe red fruits. This wine is served with sheep, lamb and deer meat cuts.
Grand Ricardo Monte Xanic, Ensenada: This Mexican robust wine is a Bordelaise mixture and is made with cabernet, merlot and petit. With a great elegance and complexity, it is perfect to serve with Prime rib, roast beef, lamb, mature cheese, salmon and vegetables stews.
Finally, the sommelier Luca Ballotta recommends to “always serve the wine in a glass, as usual, to feel a real pleasure in our palates”.
