Now in its 39th edition the most anticipated event in Mexico’s tourism industry promises to be a resounding success. The Tianguis Turistico 2014 will be held in Cancun, Quintana Roo from the 6th to 9th of May.

This famous promotion and businesses platform for marketing various tourist destinations in Mexico will be held in Cancun, Quintana Roo from the 6th to 9th of May. The event’s main objective is to increase the flow of both domestic and international visitors within the various segments featured: Sun & Beach, Culture, Luxury, Business and Adventure.

The Tianguis Turistico 2014 is managed by the Government of Quintana Roo and supported by the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Board of Mexico. The program will have seminars and conferences for business segments and destinations, along with business session appointments for participating companies.

The venue will be the LAKAM Center, a modern building that has become one of the largest and most advanced in Latin America. The location hosts major exhibitions, conferences and corporate events and as well musical, cultural and sporting events.

This year’s edition has surpassed all expectations of numbers of attendees and participating countries. There are 59 confirmed countries including Nigeria, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Slovenia, Romania, Iceland and Vietnam. State Secretary of Tourism Laura Fernandez recently stated that over 674 companies from Europe, the USA, Canada and Latin America are also confirmed.

Ms. Fernandez emphasized the safety of national and international attendees, noting that the work with Civil Protection has been arduous. She further commented: «This allows us to increase the flow of visitors from the national and international markets, demonstrating the supply and diversity in tourism our country has to offer to the world.”

Events such as the Tianguis Turistico promote the image of Mexico, positioning it as one of the top destinations in Latin America.
