Mayan Spa Renewal Package Offered At Award-Winning Grand Velas Riviera Maya

Riviera Maya, Mexico (March 30, 2012)– The recipient of Virtuoso’s “Best Spa” award, Grand Velas Riviera Maya is offering a new Mayan spa renewal package using ancient practices for physical and mental well-being. Built in a watering hole inspired by Mexico’s sacred “cenotes” with dramatic two-story windows, the spa at the Grand Riviera Maya has over 40 treatment suites, his and hers areas, and a seven step water journey that is considered among the best of its kind. Drawing upon Mayan traditions, the package combines old world techniques with activities designed to cleanse the spirit, such as Hatha Yoga lessons, and a purification session with a Mayan Shaman.

Guests can choose one of two specialty relaxing treatments, the Mayan Shawl Treatment, a traditional technique using rhythmic movement to align posture, or the Nik Te Ha Aquatic Massage, an underwater massage designed to relax muscles and free the mind. Both treatments also include the water journey, an adventure based on water rituals with alternating temperatures to achieve healing and relaxation. A guided nature tour along the Rio Secreto immerses in the centuries old beauty of the resort’s surroundings as well as brings stories of the past to life.

Luxury accommodations are provided in a Zen Grand Suite overlooking a canal that winds through the guest wing, surrounded by the lush jungle and mangrove. The Grand Velas Resorts’ all-inclusive rates include suite accommodations, a la carte gourmet meals at a choice of specialty restaurants, premium branded beverages, 24 hour in-suite food and beverage service, fitness center, kids’ club, activities for adults and children, taxes and gratuities and more. All-inclusive rates start at $395.50 per person per night based on double occupancy through April 30, then from $361.00 per person, per night double occupancy from May 1-December 19, 2012. Rates for children are $99 per child per night. A minimum stay of 5 nights is required.
