Wine & Food Festival 2013




 
Cancun and the Riviera Maya will once again host the Wine & Food Festival, which will be held from March 14th to 17th, 2013.
 
Preparations are underway, and renowned national and international chefs have been confirmed, in addition to haute cuisine personalities, producers, importers and distributers of wine and food throughout the world. All are coming together under with the same goal: to make this festival one of the most highly recognized gourmet events in the Americas.
 
Among the most anticipated activities at this celebration are wine tastings and lectures. Mexican chefs in attendance will include Aquiles Chavez, Daniel Ovadia, Sonia Arias, Manuel Baños, Antonio de Livier, Diego Hernandez, Daniele Müller and Josefina Santacruz. International chefs joining the festival will include Mikel Alonso of Spain who developed the concept of restaurant Cocina de Autor at Grand Velas Riviera Maya, Guy Santoro of France, Mark Ladner, Jared Reardon and Marc Vetri from the United States and many more.
 
Aside from promoting the culture of gastronomy, the festival will benefit the Fundacion Ciudad de la Alegria, or City of Joy Foundation; a project composed of various service centers operated by different organizations. The institution currently assists over 20,000 people, including children, women, the sick, elderly and families living in extreme poverty.
